Measure the room -walls, floor space, windows, furniture. Draw a scale diagram of the room and then draw in where the furniture will go. This will save time and frustration trying to put a large, heavy piece where it won't fit. If you haven't already done this, remove all the pictures and art objects from the walls and flat surfaces. Whatever color the walls may be painted currently, consider painting them all white, off-white or a neutral tone such as beige, cream or light tan. Plan to hang only one piece of art per wall as a focal point.
Simple. We can select a simple nightstand that has a drawer on it. By having a drawer within the nightstand, we could simply put the items inside it. We could place a simple chair close to the nightstand, but be sure that it would blend well. A tall, thin lamp would look best along with a simple nightstand. Adding a book and water would still compliment the simple theme. bear in mind that the minimalist theme would retain when we lessen the stuffs in our nightstand
